Materials from Sustainable Forests

Since 2010, we have been FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified. This certification ensures that 100% of the forest-origin material we acquire to manufacture our labels comes from sustainably managed forests, taking into consideration ecological, social, and economic aspects. Lappí is the leading FSC®-certified label manufacturer in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the primary manufacturers in Europe.

Our Commitment to the 3Rs

Sustainability and circularity are the principles upon which our adherence to the 3Rs is based: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Reduce

We assist our clients in choosing the best option to reduce the volume of raw materials and waste generated in their manufacturing processes through the following products.

Recycle

Applying pre-consumer or post-consumer byproduct recycling techniques yields new materials that we use to offer partially or fully recycled products.

Reuse

Giving packaging a second life requires an efficient label-container separation process. To facilitate this action, we also offer a specific product.

Sustainable Inks

The inks and varnishes used in our printing process are free from substances classified as toxic and highly toxic according to the EuPIA Exclusion Policy. Additionally, they do not contain heavy metals. Since the food sector is one of our main markets, we offer a wide range of low migration inks and varnishes. The use of this type of varnishes and inks is crucial for the production of recyclable or biodegradable labels.

Carbon Footprint

Lappí was the first company in the Spanish graphic arts sector to register its carbon footprint in consecutive years with the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.

SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange)

Lappí is a member of SEDEX in the supplier context. This way, we communicate our results to the supply chain regarding social responsibility.

Periodically, we undergo SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) audits.

ECOVADIS

Lappí has partnered with EcoVadis with the aim of promoting sustainability in the supply chain.

The assessment covers aspects such as environmental impacts, labor practices and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

In this evaluation, Lappí Etiquetas has achieved the Silver Medal.

CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)

Lappí Labels & Flexible Packaging is part of the CDP database after providing information related to our contribution to climate change.

Today, 80% of the companies included in the Fortune Global 500 index provide this information.

Certifications

Having multiple certifications in quality, environment, food safety, and corporate social responsibility, in addition to participating in voluntary initiatives related to sustainability and ethics, leads us to undergo third-party audits periodically.

The increasing demands on the supply chain mean that our facilities and processes are audited by our clients at planned intervals in what are known as Second-Party Audits.

At Lappí, we are convinced that these audits bring us even closer to our clients and help us improve and grow sustainably and efficiently.

ISO 9001:2015
All Lappí plants have been certified for over 20 years in Quality Management Systems according to this standard. The systematization of processes and continuous improvement are fundamental pillars of our way of working.
ISO 14001:2015
In 2011, Lappí incorporated the environmental performance control of the company as a cross-functional area. ISO 14001:2015 certification helps us regulate the environmental aspects of the company and establish improvement objectives.
BRC Packaging
Lappí Labels & Flexible Packaging was a pioneer in obtaining this certification from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), ensuring our customers the adherence to rigorous quality and food safety controls throughout our production.
EFR
With the goal of promoting equality and personal and family reconciliation, we offer a range of measures in the areas of leadership, quality in employment, temporary flexibility, family support, professional development, and equal opportunities.
ISCC PLUS
Ensuring supply chain traceability, especially for plastics, is crucial. This certification ensures that we meet high environmental and social standards, enabling us to issue Sustainability Declarations to our customers.
FSSC 22000
Food safety is vital to us. This certificate covers risk analysis, food safety management, service specifications, management of input materials, food defense, and environmental control, among other aspects.
